We pay you through PayPal, check, or in some cases, through retailer dollars. All you do is mail us your item (we send you a pre-paid shipping label when you're ready). Once we receive it, we inspect it to make sure it meets the Ztail Guarantee Terms and then we pay you. It's that easy!

Once you're ready to sell, we ask you a few questions about your item's condition, how you want to be paid and where we can ship you a label. We then send you a pre-paid shipping label. Pack your item carefully and send it back to us. We'll inspect it to make sure it meets the Ztail Guarantee Terms and as long as it does, we'll send you your payment.
In this case, we'll contact you and let you know why. We'll offer you two options: 1) you can take a lower payment, or 2) we can send your item back to you.
The Ztail Guarantee Terms require that your item being sold is in "Good" Condition. If your item does not meet these conditions, we'll contact you and let you know why. "Good" Condition as described in our Ztail Guarantee Terms requires that the item adhering to the following criteria:
- Item must be identical in model to item selected in FutureProof process and represented in user's MyZtail account.
- Item must be fully functional.
- Item can have no major cracks, scratches, dents, marks, or other blemishes beyond normal wear and tear.
- Item must contain all or substantially all of the original parts and included accessories, specifically, any original parts required for continual functioning of the product.

We have spent a lot of time analyzing products and their values. We know what stuff is worth. Our patent-pending technology analyzes historical data from various sources. We look at other items that have sold; new items, used items, identical items and similar items (comparables). We then take all of that information, combine it with some computers and some of our really smart analysts, and calculate a value based on the estimated depreciation of your item over time.
Good point. In an ideal world we would calculate a Guarantee amount for each individual's item. A camera that you own for 9 months may not be in the same condition as a camera that your neighbor owns for the same time. In order to keep things simple for you, our customer, we aggregate all of our data to keep the values consistent and easy for you to follow.
We will email you 3 times to let you know about any adjusted offer. If we do not hear back from you in 2 weeks, we will pay you the adjusted amount.

In general, we re-sell your item. Depending on your item and its condition, it can be sold to a number of partners we have. Many of them will list it on marketplaces like eBay, Amazon or Craigslist. We make sure that your item has a safe home. In most cases, you'll make someone happy as they become the new owner of your old item. Remember your first car? It was probably used but it felt "new" to you! That's the feeling you're giving someone else!
We'll send you a pre-paid label. Simply print it out, follow the instructions, carefully package your item and slap the label on it. You're good to go.
Carefully. Seriously, your guarantee is based on your item being returned to us in "Good Condition". So please take care as you pack your item. You are responsible if your item is damaged in the shipping process and it could result in an adjusted guarantee. No need to stress, some old newspaper and tape are all you need to carefully wrap and protect your item.
